My name is Sarah, I live with my husband and 2 young boys (3 and 0) thats right double the trouble. We have been living in Adelaide hills for over 3 years and getting used to the surrounds and meeting some lovely people.
I have always been a runner at school. My dad was into running so i decided to start going for runs with him and his friends. I would enter running events at school but didnt take it too seriously just as a way to bond with my dad. One year someone in the class got all us girls to enter the 1500m trial for sports day. So i entered. This was a defining part of my life because I was nominated for the school cross country girl 3 km team. I tried to get out of it, knowing I had never run that far before! I went to visit the teacher and he forced me to not pull out. I was in tears but it was decided that i wasn’t allowed to pull out. So I competed in the girls team, not knowing if I could finish but pushing through my stitch. We ended up placing thanks to one of our team members being a absolute gun. Since then I have more confidence in my ability and have entered various races longest being half marathon finishing 1hr 47m (without training). More recently getting hooked into trail running and doing weekly Saturday parkruns as a way to start my weekend.
I have always been into gym since a teen but now I value the benefits i get from yoga and meditation to calm my mind. I recently got into pilates and have been noticing how strong my core is getting in my post partum body.
I have been a vegan since opening my mind to learning about animals and environmental effects of eating meat. So I decided to see if I could implement a vegan lifestyle. My hubby took the news well maybe thinking will be just another of my fads, but have been feeling good on a vegan diet for 7 years!
I used to thrive to be the perfect parent, making sure Lachie gets only homemade healthy food but fussy eaters are challenging. Making sure to be there for my kids; giving them a cuddle when they are sad and find ways to make them laugh, allowing them to explore, learn and grow!
I can’t wait to see what this blog grows into.
